Why not try adding in banana, mango, cacao powder, cacao nibs, vegan chocolate chips, shredded coconut, peanut butter, cashew butter, peaches, coconut yoghurt, vanilla extract, chopped apples, raisins, cinnamon, almonds, walnuts and chopped peanuts.

You could even try topping with fresh mint leaves, finely chopped for an extra fresh kick!

Method

If you have them to hand, these are fantastic to make in mason jars and take somewhere for later. You can also make a bunch for a few days and store them in the fridge. They typically keep for 3-4 days.

Top Tip

Berry oats are usually served cold, straight from the fridge. To mix it up a bit, you could put the ready mixture in pan and heat it up on the stove, adding toppings once serving. This way is more hearty and homely.

Heavenly Berry Oats

Serves: 2
Cuisine: American

Prep time: 10 mins
Cooling time: 20 mins

Ingredients

1 x cup rolled whole oats

1 x handful of blueberries

1 x handful of raspberries

3 x cups of nut milk (I use almond, cashew or oat milk)

1 x small handful of pecan nuts

2 x tsp chia seeds

Directions

1. In a blender add the berries and nut milk (keeping back three raspberries for decoration). Blend until smooth

2. Add the oats and berry milk mix into a bowl and stir, place in fridge for 20 mins to cool.

3. Sprinkle on top some berries, the pecan nuts and chia seeds

4. Serve and enjoy while chilled
